Scott Breen '16 Food Sci, graduate student in the Department of Food Science, thinks cricket flour and other insect-based ingredients could be a solution to the problem of food security. Breen was one 16 students to participate in a research project in a faculty member's lab in the College of Agricultural Sciences last spring.
College of Agricultural Sciences recognizes Outstanding Senior, student marshal

Cara Boothroyd, a native of Endwell, New York, has been named 2016 Outstanding Senior by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences. She was also chosen as the student marshal for the college's spring commencement ceremony, which takes place at 3:30 p.m., May 8, at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus

A food science doctoral student in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences recently earned two honors, receiving a fellowship from the U.S. Department of Agriculture to fund her research and winning an award for teaching excellence from the University.

Most people get to tour a brewery only once or twice in their lives. Fall 2015 graduate Andrew Glass goes to a brewery most days — brewing beer is his livelihood. The Reading native scored his dream job as a brewing supervisor for the Samuel Adams Pennsylvania Brewery in Breinigsville, which is one of the biggest craft breweries in the United States.
