Auja recently returned from a two-month research collaboration in Claudia Guldimann’s lab at Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität (LMU) in Munich. She used RB-TnSeq to study the role of genes in Salmonella Typhimurium survival and fitness in rockwool during lettuce seedling development for hydroponic cultivation.

Her research visit was supported by the Penn State One Health Microbiome Center Interdisciplinary Innovation Fellowship.
