The Rodney A. Erickson Food Science building is our departmental home. This building houses research and teaching labs, classrooms, and faculty, staff, and graduate student offices. The building is also home to the Berkey Creamery.
The center is a state-of-the-art human research testing facility that provides students at all levels with experiential learning opportunities in sensory and consumer science, teaches sensory methodology through short courses and our graduate certificate, and supports industry through technical assistance and sensory testing services.
Our Wet Pilot Plant, Dry Pilot Plant, and Food Safety Pilot Plant contain equipment used in food manufacturing facilities around the world. These state-of-the-art plants offer research and teaching opportunities for Food Science faculty and students.
