Girls Exploring Yogurt-fermenting Microbes

Centre county middle school girls visited Kovac lab to explore yogurt-fermenting microbes an learn about food microbiology.

The workshop was organized by Kovac lab and the Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania. Thanks to Kovac lab undergraduate students of Food Science (Shannon Brady, Xiaoxuan (Meg) Shi, Thomas Pastor) and of Immunology and Infectious Disease (Emma Mills), as well as a Food Science graduate student Taejung Chung for their engagement in development and presentation of the workshop. We had lots of fun in the lab and are excited about next year's workshop!
