Congratulations to our lab member Ashley Weaver for placing second in the best Undergraduate Medical Microbiology Poster category at the Annual Meeting of the Allegheny Branch American Society for Microbiology.
Ashley is a an undergraduate student majoring in Infectious Disease and Immunology. She presented her research poster titled "Antimicrobial susceptibility testing of Escherichia coli and Salmonella enterica isolates used as model organisms in development of a rapid antimicrobial susceptibility testing method".
Ashley is working on a collaborative project between Food Science (Kovac Lab), School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and Materials Research Institute (Ebrahimi Lab, Liu Lab). The project is funded by the Penn State Convergence of Materials and Life Sciences seed grant awarded to Drs. Ebrahimi, Liu and Kovac.
The meeting took place at Gettysburg College on November 9-10, 2018.
