Taejung Chung presented his research at the ASM Conference on Rapid Applied Microbial Next-Generation Sequencing and Bioinformatic Pipelines held on September 23–26, 2018 in the Washington DC area.

Taejung presented some of his latest research findings related to microbial ecology of surface waters commonly used for irrigation of agricultural crops.

He is using metagenomics approaches to investigate the potential of microbial community fingerprints as indicators of food safety hazards. In his work, Taejung investigates associations between microbial communities, environmental factors and occurrence of foodborne pathogens.
